Job Summary:

Conducts assessments to understand and advise accountable management regarding risks and the adequacy of the organization's designed system of internal controls. Works independently and collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization on risk/control assessments, facilitating examinations associated with internal control, and developing impactful reporting. The scope of the role includes addressing risks and internal controls related to financial reporting, operational processes, compliance, IT, and enterprise-level risk.

Job Duties:

  • Independently performs process-level assessments, based on recognized risk and control frameworks and principles.
  • Proficient with performing root cause analysis and assessing impacts of various internal control deficiencies.
  • Coordinate and create status updates for internal control over financial reporting, SOC 1 and SOC 2, and other internal control engagements.
  • Complete regular assessments of third-party assurance reporting (e.g., SOC, HITRUST)
  • Works independently to ensure engagements are completed on time and in compliance with department policies.
  • Ensures sufficient documentation of work products is developed to enable informed users to reach the same conclusion.
  • Establishes and manages relationships throughout the organization to foster collaboration and a strong control environment.
  • Ability to understand and simplify complex processes, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to develop concise and effective communications of sensitive matters to various levels of management.
