Key responsibilities:
Serve as a primary support source for the Health System's medical records across multiple facilities.
Identify and correct analysis errors to ensure compliance with medical record standards and regulations.
Review health information requests for regulatory agencies and compile necessary documentation for reimbursement.
Monitor and analyze EHR data to improve processes and ensure compliance with established policies and guidelines.

Description
Serves as a primary source of support for the Health System with 8 Acute Care Hospitals, All Baptist Outpatient Services (over 50 locations) and all ambulatory surgical centers. Identifies and corrects analysis errors ensuring facilities maintain complete and accurate medical records according to Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, TJC, and CMS standards for our facilities. Reviews requests for health information for RAC and other regulatory agencies ensuring the presence of all necessary documents and compiles signature logs to ensure reimbursement for services rendered. Monitors and analyzes EHR data, trending outcome for process improvement, optimizing EHR use and compliance with established policies, regulatory requirements, and AHIMA guidelines. Work as part of team to meet individual and departmental goals. Estimated pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.84 / hour depending on experience.

Degrees:

Additional Qualifications
Associate degree in related field preferred.
Prefer Certified Record Health Information Technician (RHIT) and/or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
Minimum of two years of acute care experience in medical record analysis.
Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
Knowledge of health information systems, database management, spreadsheet design, and computer technology.
Ability to organize work priorities and to be attentive to fine details with good decision- making skills in a high volume high producing work setting.
Requires typing 25 wpm and passing MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint testing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
