Job description

The Business Development Executive is a key role responsible for driving growth across our organization. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results-driven sales professional with a passion for developing and delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the industry and our customers.
This role involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and generating new leads. The candidate will actively engage in client meetings, pitches, presentations, and RFPs, ensuring the successful completion of the sales process.

About the Role:

  • Implement sales strategies, identify new opportunities, and create go-to-market initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers, leveraging your network and expertise to generate new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to ensure our solutions remain competitive and relevant in an ever-changing market.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitive analysis to your manager and other key stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices, sharing insights and knowledge with the wider organization to drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as the point of contact for all sales-related inquiries and manage the sales process from start to finish.
  • Meet agreed-upon targets for profitable sales volume, market share, and other key financial performance objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of the book publishing market and an understanding of the challenges faced by organizations in this space.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Driven and results-oriented approach, with a passion for developing and delivering innovative solutions.
  • Ability to think strategically and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the product development life cycle.
  • Ability to manage time well and work independently.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The target total cash compensation range varies across locations.

For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the target total cash compensation range for this role is $128,100 - $237,900.

This is inclusive of both base pay and any target sales incentive.
Pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay and any target sales incentive are part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
