Compensation Range:

$55,955.00 - $78,336.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
Conducts specialized and highly complex analysis of financial data for property, plant and equipment in support of the various University Finance functions. Identify and research material variances by working with personnel across the consolidated University system. Reviews and evaluates University accounting policies and procedures for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in relation to fixed assets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare complex monthly journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations and ad-hoc analyses for the property, plant, and equipment area. 

  • Run depreciation within Workday Business Assets. 

  • Review and approve fixed asset transactions within the University’s general ledger system.

  • Prepares account reconciliations and analyses necessary to ascertain integrity of accounting data, account balances and timeliness of reporting. 

  • Maintains fixed asset data within Workday Business Assets and UR Space.

  • Makes day-to-day interpretations and decisions on the accounting treatment of financial transactions   

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (strongly preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3 years of professional accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Financial Experience in University or Academic Medical Center

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication skills and attention to detail required. Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment within tight deadlines.
