What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney Engine Services, Inc. has an opening for an Associate Director, Accounting & Controllership. This position is 100% remote. Position requires travel to Canada one to two times per year.

  • Serve as key member of the Finance team who communicates with the Assistant Controller and Controller on a regular basis.
  • Support key aspects of the month-end/ quarter-end/ year-end process, including submission of consolidated financial statements, reporting packages, and periodic variance analysis.
  • Ensure the consolidated financial statements present fairly, in all material aspects, the consolidated balance sheets and the related consolidated statements of operations, of comprehensive income, of cash flows and of changes in equity of the company in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (US GAAP).
  • Review Financial Statements prepared in accordance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises from Canada (ASPE) and statutory reporting requirements for all Canadian and International (China, Poland, UK, Brazil, Singapore) legal entities.
  • Provide technical accounting advice to the Finance team on complex accounting matters below: Foreign exchange and Hedge accounting; Accounting for Pension and Post-retirement benefit plans (needs to have in-depth knowledge of Canadian pension plans and accounting); ASC 606 Contract accounting; and Amalgamation and Business Combinations. Assist with implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations linked with government grants and other assistance (from provincial and federal government of Canada).
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley internal controls and support internal and external audits.
  • Lead process improvement projects and system implementations for the organization, including Pratt & Whitney subsidiaries.
  • Implement finance transformation initiatives.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Accounting or a related field and at least 12 years of progressive experience as an Accountant, Finance Manager, Audit Manager or related role in the accounting field.
  • Must possess at least 12 years of experience with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (US GAAP).
  • Must possess at least 12 years of experience with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
  • Must possess at least 12 years of experience with using accounting technologies (e.g. SAP, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, Blackline, Excel).
  • Must possess at least 12 years of working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley internal controls for audits compliance.
  • Must possess a Certified Public Accountant certification.

  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primary offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
