Job Summary

We are looking to hire a Sr Director Control Tower to be Responsible for development, execution, and ongoing management of the Global Logistics execution.  The Transportation Control Tower team will work with providers regionally to balance supply and demand. 

This team will be responsible for quoting new business to accelerate growth in Transportation revenue, ongoing cost monitoring to ensure our clients receive competitive pricing through Flex, and managing and monitoring ongoing shipments.  This team is essentially the customer care team and quote team for our clients who leverage Flex Transportation solutions globally. 

 This leader will recruit and manage the regional Control Tower teams that work with the transportation providers and operations to develop global and regional strategies and initiatives to meet current and future business needs.  The Senior Director will Identify and implement continuous improvement projects designed to lower total transportation cost, at reduced transit times, with increased reliability, profitability and customer satisfaction.

What a typical day looks like:

• Develop overall strategy that focuses on cost, speed, and reliability of the services provided to business.
• Work with the business to develop appropriate metrics and KPI’s and manage accordingly.
• Provide strategic alignment with Corporate strategies and initiatives.
• Manage cost side of the Transportation business, working closely with the Senior Director of Transportation and Head of Sales to deliver revenue and profit goals for the product.
• Work with internal IT and vet external solutions to deliver best in class quoting, monitoring, visibility and billing solutions.
• Look for automation opportunities and deploy solutions that improve performance and cost to serve.
• Drive continuous improvement in the efficiency of transportation expenditures across the company. Develop effective and joint solutions with suppliers and providers to lower total transportation cost.
• Build and maintain relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives and resolve customer / operational issues.
• Lead the team that manages carrier vetting and onboarding to ensure cost competitiveness and capacity to meet the business needs.
• Work closely with the Global Logistics Team to ensure compliance to company policies. 
• Work closely with sub-ordinates to ensure global strategies and policies are effectively developed, communicated and implemented driving standardized best practices across regional control towers and many local operations globally.
• Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and metrics to reduce costs, streamline procedures and implement solutions.
• Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
• Regularly interact with executives and major clients which may result in influencing and/or persuading customer negotiations.

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Typically requires 14 years of a combination of brokerage, distribution, warehousing and logistics technology experience.
• Be well versed in TMS solutions and how they interact with WMS systems and client ERPs.

Pay Range (Applicable to US Remote). Due to this role being remote, the actual pay range will vary depending on the geographical location of the candidate

$162,000.00 USD - $222,700.00 USD Annual
