Job Summary:
Functions under the direction of the Manager(s), Enterprise Imaging and Informatics, the administrator is responsible for supporting the daily functions of the Enterprise Imaging and Informatics systems within One WellStar. This includes project participation, staff training and troubleshooting of these systems. This individual will act as liaison in Enterprise Imaging and Informatics iniatives within other departments as well as working with appropriate vendors. Must promote excellent customer service and strong communication skills. The Administrator must be able to perform job functions as well as participate in projects with varying levels of complexity. Working with their Manager(s), the individual is responsible for participating and coordinating system projects for Enterprise Imaging, PACS and digital imaging initiatives as needed.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Assists with Enterprise Imaging and Informatics, HIS/RIS and other software integrations, interfaces and projects. * Assists manager in the oversight of imaging informatics EI, PACS and VR equipment including image workflow, archiving, auto routing and other related activities. * Works closely with facility Coordinators to ensure proper operation of DICOM digital image destinations and transfer into the Enterprise Imaging system / temporary server * RIS validation, exceptions handling and HIM merge requests. * Consults with vendors on adding DICOM integration with appropriate destinations; Primary, Secondary, Temp and Emergency. * Completes system monitoring, troubleshooting and reporting (QC, daily, weekly, etc.) * Assists in completing and training coordinators in effective resolution of workflow issues such as QC and fix-up * Works within IT User access requests for informatics to add users as appropriate. * Coordination of consistent AE titles in WellStar format for all equipment. * Evaluates and identifies specific issues and communicates to the manager in order to determine a plan to resolve them. * Prioritizes issue escalation with the Department Managers, Physicians and facility Coordinators and appropriate vendors. * Monitors IT Medical Imaging Change Control tickets daily and during On Call rotation. * Opens IT tickets or GSC calls in a timely manner for resolution of issues * Provides flexibility with On Call schedule. * Manages and prioritizes assigned work and project timelines when working from home. * Assists in organizing system Enterprise Imaging projects re: data migration, server moves and IT issues * Responsible for assigning or obtaining IP addresses and IT security approval for specific projects * Adds informatics software on workstations as identified and provides troubleshooting of issues. * Educates and trains coordinators regarding changes resulting from upgrades and system updates. * Assists in maintaining equipment inventory to include IP addresses and naming conventions current on all workstations * Assists the manager with monitor inventory to create replacement strategy * Facilitates work requests on Radiologist and system workstations to identify image access issues * Reviews reports, technical and clinical incomplete, QC to assist in identification of issues. * Supports the facility in monitoring of informatics and departmental compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory agency standards. Customer Service, Patient Safety, Communications and Financial Responsibility * Knows existing lines of communication, management structure and escalation path. * Works efficiently with vendors and service representatives * Promotes System Safety initiatives. * Communicates informatics updates during routine facility meetings. * Promotes communication to internal customers and provides appropriate feedback and updates on identified issues. * Follows system customer service initiatives and communication * Works with manager(s) on projects as appropriate * Communicates and is accessible via multiple means, skype, email, cell phone, texts, etc. * Assists Radiologists with image access issues and key system functionality as appropriate. * Contributes to staff onboarding with user access and training * Utilizes financial principles in daily operations in order to identify cost savings Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:
Some high school Required and Graduate of an AMA School of Radiologic Technology. Required
