Job description

Our client a leading global technology innovator in the retail and commerce space is seeking a Senior Field Security Architect to serve as a key leader in their cybersecurity strategy. This individual will act as a trusted advisor internally and externally ensuring security is embedded across products, infrastructure, and customer-facing solutions. This role offers the opportunity to drive impactful security initiatives at scale, collaborating with some of the largest organizations in retail.

Role Summary:
As the Senior Field Security Architect, you will oversee the security architecture of enterprise-grade digital platforms and services. You will engage directly with engineering, product, and executive teams, as well as enterprise customers, to align security strategy with evolving business needs. The ideal candidate brings technical depth, leadership presence, and hands-on experience developing and executing robust security programs in cloud-first and customer-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of security architecture, protocols, and frameworks across product and infrastructure portfolios.

  • Ensure alignment with relevant compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST).

  • Drive clarity in situations involving ambiguous or competing priorities between business and technical teams.

  • Advise internal and external stakeholders on security risks, strategic direction, and incident response readiness.

  • Guide product and engineering teams on secure system design, scalable architectures, and performance-sensitive environments.

  • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability reviews.

  • Provide thought leadership and training on IAM, IGA, and Zero Trust models.

  • Lead or contribute to awareness and education initiatives for both internal teams and enterprise clients.

  • Stay ahead of security trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to inform strategy.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity architecture, risk management, or enterprise-level security leadership.

  • Prior experience in a senior architect or CISO-level advisory role within technology, cloud services, or enterprise software.

  • Expertise in public cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), SSE/SASE frameworks, identity and access management (IAM), and network security.

  • Familiarity with modern retail and commerce technology environments, including IoT, data privacy, and payment security.

  • Deep understanding of compliance and privacy standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, CCPA).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing both technical and executive audiences.

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or CEH preferred.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for client meetings and conferences.
