This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
The VP of Demand, Digital and Experience Marketing leads the development and execution of strategies that drive customer interest and engagement through marketing channels and partnering with the rest of marketing and sales to progress opportunities through the buyer journey. This executive plays a critical role in driving the campaign planning and performance management for the marketing organization and collaborates closely with peers across marketing, sales, services, and revenue operations to align activities. This role has direct responsibility for digital marketing, web strategy and production, and events including the Calix flagship conference, ConneXions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Demand Marketing:
Lead and direct the paid digital marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and drive traffic. Ensure paid acquisition, including programmatic ABM, SEO/AEO and social media investments align to strategic objectives and deliver performance goals.
Drive optimization of inbound marketing channels to improve website visitor engagement and conversion rates.
Collaborate with content and product marketing teams to create compelling content that generates demand.
Collaborate with communications team to amplify strategic messages and initiatives
Digital Strategy:
Oversee the development and optimization of Calix's web presence, ensuring it aligns Calix strategic priorities and lead efforts to driving marketing engagement
Help team align to and optimize for wider marketing and sales initiatives and balance requirements for web site stake holders.
Ensure CaIix.com continues to enhance organic visibility and drive quality traffic.
Lead efforts to leverage web analytics to monitor performance and make data-driven decisions to improve user experience and conversion rates.
Event Experiences:
Oversee the development and execution of the Calix event marketing strategy to ensure the portfolio of events and investment support Calix marketing objectives and corporate objectives. Drive strategy, execution, management system, and performance of Calix ConneXions, our industry leading annual conference.
Actively support collaboration across all functions to develop and leverage event and event surround activities. Analyze event outcomes and provide insights to refine future event strategies.
Lead event organization performance and budget management system to deliver on KPIs and continue to optimize implementation
Marketing and Campaign Planning:
Drive and manage annual and quarterly marketing plans that align with business objectives and growth targets. Activities include developing and updating the marketing (campaign) architecture, partnering closely with leadership peers to defined process and objectives, driving target setting and performance management, owning the campaign management system.
Develop and implement account-based marketing and sales strategies to target specific segments and accounts across the buyer journey and personalize marketing activities
Collaborate closely with Sales teams to align marketing efforts with sales goals and enhance account engagement.
Collaborate with creative teams to develop impactful campaign assets, including email, social media, and web content.
Monitor campaign performance and optimize tactics to improve ROI and achieve campaign goals.
Budget Management:
Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize impact.
Track and report on budget expenditures, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
Ensure all marketing activities are cost-effective, deliver measurable results, and within the quarterly budget.
Team Development
Nurture a highly collaborative, high performance culture by helping to develop leaders and individuals within the organization
Identify and support opportunities for education and career development
Travel
Approximately 20% travel expectation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
15+ years of experience in demand generation, digital marketing, event management, and campaign development.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.
Strong analytical skills and experience with marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, marketing automation tools such as Marketo or Pardot, 6sense).
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Proven track record working in a highly matrixed environment
Demonstrable experience developing and executing on marketing strategies for new market entry and cross-sell/upsell
Exceptional presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
