Our Corporate office has an excellent opportunity for a Brokerage Operations Team Lead. The Brokerage Operations Team Lead collaborates with the Manager, Custodial Operations to provide operational support to advisors, efficiently handling day-to-day tasks with our custodian. This role ensures the seamless functioning of daily operations, compliance with regulations, and effective communication within the brokerage operations team. The Team Lead works closely with advisors to resolve issues with our custodian and coordinates with other departments in the firm.

This position is a remote opportunity.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $90,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Primary Job Functions 

Support operational activities with clearing broker/dealer

  • Review and resolve daily alert functions from clearing firm

  • Review and approve daily remote deposits

  • Monitor and execute escheatment /abandon property

  • Review and notify advisors of corporate actions

  • Provide investor website support

Monitor and audit operational activities performed by the broker/dealer and with our clearing firm.

  • Monitor and review daily reports; CAT/CAIS, Patriot Act/CIP and evaluate and resolve findings.

  • Contributes to the preparation of compliance reports related to brokerage operations and collaborates across broker and finance teams on business requirements.

  • Adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies and assists in the preparation of annual risk assessments performed by internal compliance team.

  • Assists in identifying and mitigating operational risks and collaborates with risk management teams to implement controls.

  • Auditing Clearing firm to ensure broker/dealer policies are adhered to.

Advisor Support

  • Respond to and resolve advisors’ requests with our clearing broker dealer

  • Ensures back office operational efforts are coordinated and high-quality client service is provided

  • Assist with onboarding of new advisors to clearing firm with system access and operational processes.

  • Help develop procedures and guidelines to support operational functions.

Metrics / Regulatory Support

  • Assist manager in the coordination of metrics reports and analytics of clearing operations processes.

  • Assist with compliance notices, examinations, and inquiries for SEC and/or FINRA

  • Coordinate annual privacy and KYC notifications

Education/Qualifications

  • 4-year degree preferred

  • 5-10 years of financial industry experience

  • FINRA Series 7, SIE

  • FINRA Series 24 preferred

  • Excellent communication skills: heavy phone usage required to be successful in the role

  • Strong process management skills and ability to see tasks through to completion.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as: the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. Thus, the entire salary range for those who are classified as the Lead is $87,400.00 to $131,000.00.
