Here’s where you come in:

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Employee Benefits team. You’ll primarily be responsible for supporting HUB client teams through financial strategy including monitoring and analyzing on various aspects of clients’ employee benefits programs. Specific tasks include regularly reviewing team’s work for deliverables and providing direction on financial projects. Primarily responsible for providing financial reporting, detailed utilization analytics, projections, reserve calculations to large high revenue clients, in addition to, helping to develop new tools/templates for the region, and implement teamwide and national initiatives.

Other responsibilities of the Senior Financial Analyst role include:

  • Ongoing evaluation, refinement and creation of regional financial tools, trainings and resources.
  • Analyze claims utilization to provide to internal teams and clients at a regular cadence.
  • Project/underwrite annual expenses associated with plans, including valuation of changes proposed to benefit program.
  • Be a subject matter expert and team resource in various aspects of financial analytics including assisting in the development of junior analysts.
  • Regularly attend virtual internal meetings with service teams, client and prospect meetings as needed as the financial lead and is an active participant in strategic discussions.
  • Review and evaluate client financial deliverables to ensure they are complete, accurate and support meeting goals and objectives for client/prospect meetings.
  • Understanding of current industry trends.

You’re great at:

  • Life & Health License required
  • Well versed in self-funded benefit plans including reporting, renewal projections, and reserve calculations
  • Familiarity with actuarial software
  • Experience reviewing and evaluating carrier produced renewal calculations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with producing self-funded feasibility analyses for fully insured and level funded clients.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word.
  • Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming preferred but not required.
  • Aptitude for analytical/financial work.
  • Time management.
  • High level of communication, primarily internally with colleagues and team members around deadlines and other similar items, but also with external clients and industry professionals.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Skills & Reasoning Ability

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. General knowledge of the principals of statistics, such as the law of large numbers (i.e. larger sample sizes being more credible). Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The expected salary range for this position is $115,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
