Senior F5 Network Engineer

Job Description:
We have a temporary opening (2 months contract) for an experienced F5 Network Engineer with deep expertise in both rSeries and iSeries appliances. This role is responsible for the remote base configuration, software installation, and migration of configurations from iSeries to rSeries platforms. The engineer will also prepare and support a comprehensive cutover plan, including integration with BIG-IQ for backup purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and deploy 34 r2800 and 2 r5800 F5 rSeries Appliances remotely.
• Install the latest validated F5OS Software and apply base configurations tailored to the customer environment.
• Convert existing configurations from iSeries/TMOS 17.1.1.3 to rSeries Tenant/TMOS 17.1.2.2.
• Pre-stage remote configuration for 17 HA pairs (r2800) and 2 HA pairs (r5800).
• Prepare a cutover plan identifying onsite and L2/L3 infrastructure support needs.
• Add new rSeries devices to BIG-IQ for backup only (not for configuration management or monitoring).

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with F5 technologies (iSeries and rSeries).
• Proven experience migrating configurations from TMOS-based iSeries to F5OS-based rSeries platforms.
• Strong understanding of F5OS, TMOS versions, HA setups, and BIG-IQ integration.
• Experience working with high-availability (HA) environments and large-scale deployments.
• Familiarity with scripting or automation for configuration tasks is a plus (e.g., Python, Ansible).
• Ability to develop and document detailed cutover and implementation plans.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with onsite and remote teams.
• F5 certifications (such as F5-CA or F5-CTS) are strongly preferred.
