Job description

ROLE SUMMARY

The Independent Vaccine Contract Manager (iVCM) is responsible for working with the Vaccines’ Sales Organization, National Account Director Team, the Contract and Pricing Strategy Teams, Brand Management and other key stakeholders in the VBU.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Appropriate communication and collaboration with relevant cross-functional colleagues (National Account Directors, HSSs, Sales Leadership, Marketing, USMA, Legal, Contracting, etc.) to support effective pricing/contracting discussions with Vaccine Key Accounts.
  • Where needed, and in coordination with Sales Leadership, effectively and compliantly engage appropriate customer targets (executive and administrative level personnel within large independent and mid-level IDN accounts) with respect to pricing and contracting for Pfizer’s vaccine portfolio.
  • Work closely with Sales and Contracting Leadership to ensure development and execution of strategic account plans for all assigned accounts, with specific focus on effective/compliant contracting discussions, and contract pull through.
  • Accountable for all contracting activities in non-VAM aligned accounts and other commercial customers, as required.
  • Provide field expertise and regional support for Pfizer Discounts on Demand program.
  • Support the development and execution of effective contracting strategy on behalf of Vaccine portfolio by representing perspectives of Sales Accounts to appropriate HQ-based functions/personnel.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 or more years of experience, 7 years with MBA, 5 years with PhD/equivalent
  • Prior sales management and / or account management experience preferred
  • 3 plus years of vaccine contracting experience (IDN & PBG/Independent)
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully engage executive/administrative level personnel at large accounts
  • Ability to deliver complex pricing/value messages to organized provider accounts in a fully compliant fashion
  • Demonstrated financial/business acumen, strategic thinking, leading without authority and project management
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and comfort managing complex issues/obstacles
  • Experience using data and all available information to prioritize business opportunities
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating effectively and gaining alignment with colleagues across different parts of the organization (including field and HQ), and leading (formally or informally) cross-functional teams
  • Functional/Technical Skills and proficiency in Excel for analyzing and interpreting data

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical (or related) experience in customer-facing roles/functions preferred.
  • Advanced negotiation experience preferred
  • Experience with vaccine or buy and bill products preferred

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
