Jimdo was founded by three school friends in 2007 in a farmhouse in Northern Germany. Fast forward to today, we’re a growing, profitable business with a team of 250+ people from 50 nationalities based in over 15 countries. Our portfolio serves the unique needs of microbusinesses. In addition to our GDPR-compliant website builder powered by AI, we offer an online store, legal text generator, business listings, social media integration, SEO, and more. We’re constantly developing new products and services that make the lives of microbusiness owners easier and help fuel their businesses. If you’re inspired by our mission and like the idea of working for a dynamic remote-first company where you can create impact from day 1, we’d love to meet you!
As a Senior Product Owner, you will lead the charge in evolving our UX and Product Platform capabilities. You will own platform domains that shape the internal developer experience and design coherence across our product landscape. From abstracting patterns and generalizing business logic to scaling design systems and enabling faster product delivery, you’ll be at the forefront of Jimdo’s platformization journey. You’ll play a pivotal role in transforming how product teams build at Jimdo—reducing friction, increasing speed, and aligning horizontal platform services with business needs. It’s a strategic leadership opportunity to define and drive the future of how Jimdo builds products.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong platform mindset, technical depth, and an unwavering focus on developer productivity, operational efficiency, and usability at scale.
Own and evolve platform roadmaps across the UX and Product Platform teams, aligning capabilities with product team needs.
Define and enforce adoption metrics for capabilities like standardized UI components, common API layers, and data/business logic abstractions.
Deep dive into technical topics—from frontend architecture to APIs and service reliability—making data-driven product decisions.
Improve cross-team efficiency by offering well-documented, reusable, and low-friction building blocks.
Collaborate with engineering to ensure SLAs are met for platform APIs and services.
Facilitate consistent rollout of platform enhancements, tracking time to adoption and usage feedback loops.
Partner with Design, Engineering, and Developer Enablement to ensure seamless implementation and support for platform components.
Champion cost efficiency and developer enablement by minimizing duplicated work and reducing overhead.
4+ years of proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in platforms, frameworks, or internal tooling.
Strong understanding of platform abstraction principles and capability reuse.
Comfortable diving into technical topics (e.g., APIs, SDKs, service SLAs, developer workflows).
Experience in identity and access management (IAM) concepts and user account flows.
Strong analytical mindset—you can define meaningful metrics (DevEx, adoption, SLA, efficiency) and use data to drive priorities.
Familiarity with developer experience best practices, and you care deeply about making builders more productive.
Experience with design systems in a SaaS or frontend-heavy environment is a plus.
Strategic thinker who can zoom into details and zoom out to see the bigger picture.
Empathy for builders—engineers, designers, and fellow product folks.
