The Manufactured Homes Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting applications in accordance with product standard guidelines. This role involves evaluating risks to ensure they are acceptable for the program and gathering all necessary information to issue policies. Additionally, the Underwriter is tasked with analyzing financial information, assessing risk levels, and making informed decisions regarding policy approvals. This position requires direct interaction with internal and external clients and customers via email and mail. The Underwriter must adhere to State and Company Service level requirements.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Assess customer and client needs: Understand and evaluate the requirements of customers and clients to provide appropriate underwriting solutions.
Respond to inquiries and resolve issues: Address questions and concerns from clients, customers, and agents promptly and effectively.
Handle claim, legal, and agent inquiries: Manage inquiries related to claims, legal matters, and agent interactions.
Stay updated on program changes, compliance, and regulatory updates: Keep abreast of changes in programs, compliance requirements, and regulatory updates to ensure adherence to current standards.
Underwrite and issue policies using established guidelines and protocols: Evaluate and approve applications based on predefined underwriting guidelines and protocols.
Assist Insurance Agents with quoting and underwriting needs: Provide support to insurance agents in quoting and underwriting processes.
Address questions about underwriting processes, decisions, policy interpretations, and coverages: Clarify and explain underwriting decisions, policy interpretations, and coverage details to clients and agents.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
High school diploma or GED.
A minimum of 1 year of experience in Homeowners property and casualty insurance.
Experienced assessing risk levels based on established guidelines and approved standard policies.
Proficiency in underwriting and risk selection techniques for new and renewal insurance risks.
Ability to respond to inquiries regarding underwriting processes, policy forms, coverages, and premium levels.
Competence in using underwriting manuals and established authority levels to make independent decisions within guidelines.
Proven ability to handle routine tasks and follow standard procedures.
Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
A minimum of 1 year of experience of Underwriting experience in Property & Casualty insurance.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume, team-oriented environment.
Understanding of the Manufactured Housing property and casualty insurance industry is advantageous.
Prior Underwriting Experience.

Pay Range:
$20.49 - $33.81Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
