One of Australia’s largest training resource development companies is looking for talented and experienced Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design Subject Matter Experts on a contract-based to support our writing team.

About the Role

This role is focused on providing expertise to support the development of Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design training and assessment materials for Australia’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Review/validation and sign-off of our Learner Guides
Review and sign-off of our assessment tools (as needed)
Recommendations workplace documents and content for simulated assessments

The timeline will be from Oct 2024 to Feb 2025, or until all of the 7 units have been reviewed. Please note that the project span is due to our team capacity so some submissions for review might take time to be sent to SME.

Requirements

SME Requirements:

Extensive knowledge of the RII60520 qualification structure, including all relevant units of competency,
Understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices outlined in the units of competency for civil construction design.
In-depth knowledge of civil construction practices, project management, construction materials, environmental compliance, and safety standards.
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant tools used in the civil construction industry.
Willingness to provide case studies, examples, or detailed scenarios drawn from real-world civil construction projects to enhance practical assessments and learning activities.
Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS), environmental legislation, and safety practices specific to the civil construction industry.
Ability to explain complex civil construction concepts in simple terms suitable for learners at various levels.
Experience working with instructional designers, trainers, and other VET professionals to develop learning materials.
Where possible, has experience as a VET assessor

In addition, we will be working on similar units across RII, MEM, CPC and UEE, however we will require the SME on as-needs basis as the timeline for some units will be impacted by our resourcing changes. If possible, this would be the same SME working on the RII60520 project.
