About the role


Laivly is looking for a Data Engineer
to join our Reporting & Analytics team. This role reports to the Data Platform Lead and fits into a diverse and agile team that values remote first work.


As a Data Engineer, you  will assist in the design, development, deployment and maintenance of data engineering projects. You are adept at managing complex ETL processes, designing and maintaining endpoints to meet the needs of downstream stakeholders, and curating and optimizing large datasets.


As a Data Engineer, You Will…

  • Build cloud-based data ingestion pipelines from various sources, ensuring data quality and developing scalable processing steps
  • Structure and optimize datasets to support Reporting, Machine Learning, and other downstream needs
  • Collaborate with Data Science and business teams to discover, access, and organize data across distributed systems
  • Design and document data models, sources, and ingestion techniques, creating efficient, well-structured databases
  • Develop APIs and endpoints to integrate data with both internal and external services and platforms
  • Contribute to an Agile development environment with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Share ideas, experiment with new approaches, and help shape our evolving data ecosystem
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

As a Data Engineer, You Have…

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
    2+ years of experience manipulating data in a SQL environment
  • Strong skills in SQL, relational and non-relational databases, ETL development, and data integration
  • Proficiency in Python; Spark experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in C# development; experience with JavaScript is a bonus
  • Experience working with cloud-based systems
  • Ability to clearly communicate data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-paced team
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and process automation
  • A passion for data, a drive to keep learning, and a flexible attitude
