The Role

We are looking for a QA Manual Engineer to contribute to the quality and reliability of our cloud-native healthcare platform. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in manual testing who is looking to deepen their skills in test automation and cloud testing practices. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to ensure a high-quality product through well-documented test cases, thorough exploratory testing, and the gradual adoption of automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test execution reports for web-based applications (React/TypeScript frontend and REST APIs).
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, contributing QA input during planning and grooming.
• Log and track defects using tools like Jira; manage the bug lifecycle and follow up on resolution.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing across multiple platforms and browsers.
• Assist in developing non-functional test cases (e.g., usability, compatibility) and collaborate with engineers on performance testing scenarios.
• Support the implementation of automation using Selenium WebDriver and begin contributing to test scripts with Cypress under the guidance of senior SDETs.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure test coverage is aligned with development features and user stories.
• Participate in test case review sessions and work toward improving test traceability and coverage metrics.
• Learn and support CI/CD integration of basic tests with GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Support compliance testing under healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and SOC 2.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Manual QA Engineer in a software development environment.
• Solid understanding of QA concepts, including: Test case design, Test planning and execution, Defect reporting and tracking
• Familiarity with examples of severity vs priority and traceability matrix concepts (basic understanding expected, with willingness to grow).
• Hands-on experience testing web-based UIs and APIs.
• Basic exposure to Selenium WebDriver and introductory experience with Cypress.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and collaborative mindset.
• Willingness and drive to transition toward test automation.
• Experience working in Agile teams.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of or interest in performance testing tools like k6.
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Experience with Postman, REST-assured, or similar API testing tools.
• Experience in regulated domains like healthcare.
