Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:
  • Contract type: Independent Contractor
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 9AM-6PM UK Time with 1-hour unpaid break

About the Role

At the heart of our business is the development and management of high-performing property portfolios. The Financial Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and performance tracking, helping drive business success through precision, insight, and strategic oversight.

You will be responsible for day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for our real estate investment entities, working closely with internal stakeholders and third-party property managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of information. This role demands strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly accounts and KPI reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets for real estate investment entities
  • Consolidate balance sheets for property entities and their parent companies
  • Liaise with third-party property managers, reviewing financial and operational reports for accuracy and consistency
  • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies promptly with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the preparation of bank reporting requirements for debt facilities
  • Manage the full audit process and prepare audit packs
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators such as occupancy rates, rental income, maintenance costs, and capital expenditure

Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant (CPA or equivalent), with 0–3 years of post-qualification experience
  • Strong understanding of audit processes or previous audit experience
  • Experience in real estate accounting is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with IFRS or UK GAAP is an advantage, but not required
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills; Xero experience is a plus
  • Commercially minded, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to solve problems and drive improvements
  • Adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
