The Opportunity

As the Competitive Assessment & Price-to-Win (CA/PTW) Analyst, you will be a key player in facilitating organic growth at Abt Global by developing competitive and price-to-win analyses for bid opportunities. You will research and analyze the competitive landscape, specific to an opportunity, to substantiate qualitative and quantitative analyses. You will brief PTW position and recommendations to leadership, clearly justifying the rationale with data and analysis. Your expertise will influence our engagements across a diverse portfolio, including both Defense and Federal/Civilian agencies.

This position may be fully remote (based in the US), hybrid, or onsite.

Core Responsibilities

Competitive Research and Analysis

  • Gather and utilize competitive intelligence effectively, including relative strengths and weaknesses, key programs/contracts, organizational structure, teaming approach, market data, and historical bidding information.
  • Support and/or participate in Intel gathering sessions such as Customer and Competitor Black Hats and price strategy reviews.
  • Formulate competitor business case(s) in pursuing a specific bid.
  • Develop competitor win strategies and predicted bid behavior.
  • Evaluate and assess government RFP language, including price evaluation criterion, to identify key factors for the evaluated bid price.

Cost and Price Modeling (PTW):

  • Perform rigorous analyses using modeling techniques such as top-down, bottoms-up, analogous, and regression parametric to derive competitors’ price range.
  • Develop the probable competitive evaluated bid price range considering the RFP evaluation criteria, customer buying behaviors, and competitive positioning on non-price evaluation factors.
  • Substantiate the bid range with quantitative data such as customer budget data, competitor salary and wrap rate modeling, labor profile modeling, industry benchmarks, reverse engineering of past bids, and expert judgment.

Communication and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Brief and recommend a compelling PTW position across all levels of management, making the case for the optimal bid price.
  • Summarize findings and recommendations in a concise manner.
  • Interface with cross-functional stakeholders to mature assessment of opportunity, competitive landscape, and quantitative/qualitative analyses.
  • Clearly summarize and communicate complex analyses to key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal knowledge repositories on competitor bid strategies and customer award trends.

What We Value

  • Bachelor’s Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Three years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in software like Excel, PowerPoint, and potentially industry-specific tools, for proposal development and cost modeling. Knowledge of statistical methods for forecasting and projecting competitor behavior.
  • Experience with specific software programs used for PTW analysis or cost modeling.
  • Familiarity with government procurement processes.
  • Experience performing CA/PTW within the federal government services market, ideally with Civilian agencies.
  • Previous CA/PTW experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex datasets and identify trends.
  • Understanding of cost structures, pricing strategies, and competitive dynamics.
  • Experience with competitive intelligence gathering and analysis techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams like Business Development, and Capture Management.
  • Ability to present complex findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
  • Experience using common competitive intelligence research and analysis tools (DACIS, FPDS, USASpending.org, GovWin) and other resources.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $92,000 to $120,000, and may vary down by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
