About the Role: 

Ooma is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Billing Analyst to manage and oversee billing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely invoicing across the organization. This role will work closely with Sales, Finance, and Customer Support teams to resolve billing discrepancies, maintain accurate records and support process improvements. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices based on contract terms, pricing structures, and service usage. 
  • Review and validate billing data from various systems to ensure consistency and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and respond to internal or external inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain billing schedules and track milestones for recurring and project-based invoices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Customer Success and Finance, to ensure smooth billing workflows and contract alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor unbilled revenue and deferred revenue and assist in related reconciliations.
  • Support monthly close activities by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations related to billing and accounts receivable.
  • Assist with system upgrades and testing of billing modules, including process enhancements or automation projects.
  • Generate and analyze billing reports to provide insights and support forecasting efforts.
  • Support audit activities, including documentation gathering and process explanation. 

 

Experience We’re Looking For: 

  • 1+ years’ experience with billing and/or revenue accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and billing systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with VLookUp and pivot tables a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership and accountability. 
  • Experience collaborating across all organizations to influence and inspire change.
  • Energy and real passion for delivering results in a dynamic growth company.
  • Strong communication skills and sense of teamwork.

The base salary range for candidates within the United States is listed below. Actual base pay will depend on a variety of factors such as education, skills, experience, specific location, etc. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Regular employees may also be eligible for bonus(es), sales incentive(s) (target included in OTE) and/or stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
