ROLE SUMMARY
As a member of the US Hospital Leadership Team, this role is responsible for setting and executing the US sales strategy to meet or exceed all sales goals for all relevant Hospital products as well as the introduction of new products and SKUs.
The VP of Sales will be primarily responsible for managing customer facing Sales teams including Specialty & Ig East and West, Virtual Sales, National Sterile Injectables and Puerto Rico, comprising approximately 220+ colleagues while also managing the field force commercial excellence function.
This leader will direct, coach, and motivate two RBDs, two National Sales Directors, two Virtual Sales Regional Directors and one Director of Sales Effectiveness. They will also drive Hospital Business strategy, performance and culture initiatives as a key member of the Hospital Leadership Team. Portfolio responsibilities span launch and return-to-market opportunities for several products and full accountability for a portfolio of over 160 products with revenue approaching $2.5B in 2025.
This position requires an understanding of the Hospital and Alternate site market and institutional business model inclusive of the evolving Hospital patient, provider, customer, GPO and payer landscape. The accountabilities of the role require strong leadership and collaboration skills to ensure coordinated activities and communication with Marketing, Account Management, Field Reimbursement, Medical, Patient Affairs, PGS, Customer Service, Legal, Compliance, and other HQ functions to meet the business needs of the field force as well as the business overall. The Sales Leader must facilitate a strong environment of compliance in the customer facing organization. The Sales Leader must inspire and focus the overall team by creating and communicating a compelling vision of success.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivers on current business accountabilities
- Develops and executes national sales strategies and goals.
- Provides tailored and specific product, disease state, and channel appropriate direction, objectives and coaching to RBDs/NSD Leaders who have diverse teams selling in diverse market segments.
- Identifies short, mid-term and long term sources of business opportunities and tracks against a cross functional implementation plan.
- Embraces and delivers strong digital capabilities and customer relationship management tools and resources.
- Identifies national opportunities and the resources required to optimize results. Supervises pursuit of regional and district level opportunities.
- Tracks defined performance metrics
- Manage, allocate, and optimize promotional spending, work load, and call plan to meet or exceed expected results and improve profitability.
- Makes portfolio trade off decisions with respect to call plan focus in order to achieve goals.
- Hire, train, develop, coach and lead a talented, highly engaged field sales team that delivers optimal value to both customers and Pfizer. Provides expert coaching of coaches to second line field leaders that are a multiplier in their impact to front line field leaders.
- Actively contributes to leading and executing national, regional and district level POA meetings that provide clear direction, effective training, and strong motivation.
- Performs ongoing analysis of business conditions in the US, including regular conferences with managers, representatives, and key customers, in partnership with other Customer Facing team leaders across the organization.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key Hospital stakeholders including institutional, clinical and advocates.
- Develop and maintain an Incentive Compensation program that aligns to the BU and brand operating plans and ensures compliance with Pfizer policies while providing motivation for each member of the sales team.
- Contributes to the development and evolution of the Hospital business model and field team roles and responsibilities based on a clear view of the evolving external marketplace.
- Role models proactive behaviors related to integrity and all Pfizer Compliance Policies, Code of Conduct, Mission, Vision and Values, and all applicable laws and government regulations. Is a key partner to Legal and Compliance. Coaches and as necessary disciplines team members with regard to adherence to company and compliance policies.
- Travel by air, mass transit or other transportation mode is required to attend meetings, conduct field visits, participate in training and accomplish other business related activities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Minimum 15 years Sales and/or Marketing Management experience
- District Manager and Regional Business Director experience preferred
- Marketing and/or Account/Channels Management experience across multiple therapeutic areas preferred
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $280,400.00 to $467,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 30.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
