Job description

This is a remote position.

Schedule:
  • 4 hours per day, 20 hours per week
  • Mondays to Fridays, 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm California, USA, Pacific Time

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic QMS Quality & Compliance Manager to lead our quality and compliance initiatives. This part-time role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in quality systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement within manufacturing or CPG environments.

You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining our Quality Management System (QMS), driving regulatory compliance (including ISO 9001), and fostering a culture of quality across all departments. Your work will directly impact our organization’s ability to meet customer expectations and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QMS strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Establish quality metrics and performance standards across the organization.

System Development & Documentation
- Design, document, and maintain company-wide QMS, including policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Ensure consistency and clarity across all departmental quality documentation.

Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001), customer requirements, and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain audit readiness and oversee certification processes.

Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and drive corrective/preventive actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across operations to optimize quality performance.

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align operations with quality objectives.
- Serve as the subject matter expert and advisor on quality concerns and compliance matters.

Reporting & Communication
- Generate and present regular reports on quality, compliance, and related initiatives (e.g., sustainability) to senior management.
- Monitor KPIs and suggest actionable insights for improvement.

Internal Audits & Oversight
- Conduct internal quality audits and assessments.
- Address non-conformances and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.

Training & Awareness
- Provide training and support to team members to enhance awareness and understanding of quality standards, procedures, and tools.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Quality Management role within manufacturing or CPG
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with FSC, ERP systems, GHG reporting, CDP emissions, and SBTi is preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally
