This is a remote position.

Schedule:

  • (20 hours/week, 4 hours per day Monday-Friday)
  • Fixed schedule required due to multi-client management

Job Description

As the Remote Bookkeeper/Financial Controller, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of a multi-channel hospitality business that spans retail, franchise, and wholesale divisions. This position offers the unique opportunity to help scale a high-growth company from single-store operations to a national brand. You’ll be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust financial processes that support both retail and wholesale operations, working directly with leadership to ensure smooth financial operations across all business units. This role combines the excitement of a growth-stage company with the stability of established processes and the challenge of managing multiple revenue streams.

Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping operations using MYOB software
  • Process and oversee invoicing for retail and wholesale divisions with strict timing requirements
  • Handle payroll processing and management across multiple business units
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of all transactions
  • Manage daily banking operations and maintain optimal cash flow across all business divisions
  • Process BAS (Business Activity Statements) and handle tax compliance matters
  • Monitor and report on financial metrics across retail, franchise, and wholesale operations
  • Prepare and deliver time-sensitive financial documents according to specific schedules:
    • Process invoices for Monday delivery before 8 AM
    • Process invoices for Wednesday delivery before 8 AM
    • Process weekend invoices before Sunday 5 PM

Requirements
  • Proven expertise with MYOB accounting software
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax regulations and BAS requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience in hospitality or retail accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellence in cash flow management and financial reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and dedicated home office setup
  • Availability during Australian business hours
  • Experience with multi-unit or franchise operations preferred
  • Comfort with digital collaboration tools and remote work environment
