Job description

Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

We are looking for an Unclaimed Property Specialist with strong communication skills and experience collaborating extensively with both internal and external partners in a deadline driven environment. This position is responsible for working with teams across Coinbase to ensure timely and accurate unclaimed property compliance in accordance with the requirements of each U.S. state authority.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Collaborating with partners within Legal, Finance, Customer Experience, and across Coinbase to drive forward various tasks related to unclaimed property compliance.
  • Managing documentation of unclaimed property compliance, including in support of regulatory exams.
  • Identifying areas for process improvements and helping to design and implement solutions.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and effectively communicating complex information.
  • A strong work ethic with a drive to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks effectively, and take initiative to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.
  • A proactive approach to challenges and a desire to seek out solutions with a positive attitude.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring the accuracy and completeness of reports and data.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify patterns, discrepancies, and potential risks within large datasets.
  • A strong sense of urgency and experience working in a deadline driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and basic data analysis.

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of accounting, auditing principles, and relevant unclaimed property laws and regulations.
  • Experience in data analysis using SQL.
  • Familiarity with blockchain technology and digital assets.
  • Experience working with state-regulatory regimes.
