As a Global Key Account Manager (GKAM) at Körber, you will hold a critical leadership role responsible for nurturing and expanding the business relationship with one of our key customers across North America and Europe. This role involves developing strategic account plans, driving business growth and new business opportunities, achieving quarterly goals, and fostering collaboration among internal and external teams, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
This role can be located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex or close to our customer in Seattle, Washington. This role requires domestic and international travel approximately 50% of the time.
Your role in our team
- You will develop and implement key account strategies to drive business growth, achieve sales targets, and collaborate across multiple areas of the organization, including global alignment with Services, Operations, Bid Factory, and others.
- You will have direct responsibility for one premier customer account. As the primary point of contact, you will establish and maintain strong relationships, understand customer needs, and deliver tailored solutions.
- You will become an industry expert on the overall market, pricing, and competitive landscape—positioning yourself as a top performer and capitalizing on strategic opportunities for growth.
- You will bring innovative ideas and build rapport with external customers across locations and divisions, strengthening relationships through roadmaps and strategic initiatives that ensure long-term success.
- You will identify and drive new business opportunities, ensuring a robust sales pipeline, while developing creative solutions to complex challenges that enhance overall efficiency.
- You will network with industry professionals and potential partners by attending trade shows, conferences, and other key events.
- You will provide regular reports and strategic updates to the Global SVP of Sales in Germany and the US team.
Your profile
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field; MBA preferred
- You have a minimum 8–10 years of experience and knowledge in technical sales
- You have a minimum of 4–5 years previous logistics/parcel experience, manufacturing, or similar (preferred)
- You have proven experience in team management and team development
- You have strong experience in strategic planning, sales execution strategy, account management, and new markets development and/or company divisions
- You have a proven track record of successfully managing global key accounts and driving revenue growth.
- You have relationship management and networking experience
- You are comfortable working in a fast-growing and paced environment across many groups and geographies
- You have proven strong negotiation skills with a strategic mindset
- You have strong financial acumen including P&L management, bid/quote management, and contract/payment terms negotiation
- You are proficient in addressing and resolving inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and business stakeholders
- You are committed to delivering exceptional service, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty
- You have advanced PC skills, including knowledge of CRM, Excel, and more
- You have strong knowledge of global and regional logistics/parcel operations and industry
- You have strong proficiency in determining logistics/parcel requirements to enable company business goals and objectives with the ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets
- You are proficient in preparing detailed reports and documentation, providing valuable insights to senior management, customers, and others
