Job description

Job Title: Conveyancing Assistant

Location: Remote

Start Date: Immediate

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Conveyancer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in conveyancing, with a strong background in property law and the ability to complete a conveyancing file from start to finish. This role will be fully remote-based and requires proficiency in conveyancing software such as PEXA and Leap, as well as previous property law/conveyancing experience in Victoria & NSW, Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the conveyancing process for residential and commercial property transactions.
  • Conduct title searches, review contracts, and prepare legal documents related to property transfers, mortgages, and leases.
  • Liaise with clients, real estate agents, solicitors, and other parties involved in property transactions to ensure smooth and timely completion.
  • Advise clients on legal matters related to property ownership, including rights, obligations, and potential risks.
  • Coordinate settlements and attend to the exchange of contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Keep abreast of changes in property law and conveyancing practices to provide clients with up-to-date advice and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and correspondence, both electronically and in hard copy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
  • Licensed conveyancer or paralegal with 3-5 years of experience in conveyancing.
  • Strong knowledge of property law, conveyancing regulations, and relevant legislation in the state of Victoria.
  • Proficiency in conveyancing software such as PEXA and Leap.
  • Previous Australian work experience (VIC & NSW)
  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
