We're currently recruiting for a full time, fixed term Testing Engineer
We're currently recruiting for 1 full time, fixed term position in our Operations department to support both the Helplines and Services Technology Transformation programmes. The position will run until the end of April 2026.
The Testing Engineer will actively support the test and implementation of system changes, and assess, challenge and work with numerous stakeholders to escalate and resolve testing issues.
You will support the development of Services systems by working closely with service users, contracted support teams and key stakeholders across the directorate, and will develop a strong knowledge of system practice in relation to business processes. You will have a strong eye for detail, supporting the optimal solution design through delivery of functional testing (“does this work”) and the coordination of user acceptance testing (“do people like it and does this achieve the right outcomes”).
This role will be home-based, but the post holder will be expected to undertake business travel as required, specifically to our London office to support the Helplines Technology Transformation Programme and Services Transformation Programme.
We're looking for talented people who value putting children first:
To be successful in this role, you will need to be someone who
- Has previous experience in working under the process of change control,system deployments and testing strategies
- Is ‘tech savvy' – we're not looking for world-class developers, but we are looking for people who feel comfortable working with systems and particularly maintaining, reviewing and prioritising backlogs of testing bugs.
- Has a good eye for detail and natural organisational skills to co-ordinate and manage the testing processes in line with the Programme requirements.
