Job description

Responsibilities

We wish to hire a Cloud Operations Lead who can provide hands-on technical expertise and ownership of the growing cloud application suite, using the Oracle Cloud public cloud platform. Our team is dedicated to building Cloud-scale data services focused on providing Infrastructure data services.

Role Description

The Cloud Operations Lead will oversee daily cloud operations, coordinate projects, and manage team planning. This role requires a strong understanding of distributed system architecture, infrastructure management, and public cloud technologies. The Cloud Operations Lead will be responsible for building, maintaining, and managing virtual servers, automating cloud infrastructure, and monitoring cloud services to ensure efficiency and reliability. Additionally, they will lead the deployment and configuration of software suites, both internally developed and third-party, while ensuring effective monitoring and observability for internal and customer environments.

Beyond technical responsibilities, this role involves driving key initiatives such as onboarding new customers, implementing technology changes, and improving processes. Success in this position requires excellent communication with customers and internal teams, strong organizational skills to ensure project integrity, and the ability to develop and execute comprehensive project plans in collaboration with technical contributors.

  • Implementation, monitoring, and day-to-day management of a highly available Cloud infrastructure.
  • Public Cloud architecture and engineering responsibilities.
  • Configure infrastructure and applications for high performance and highly available operations to meet business needs.
  • Selection of IT solutions in terms of the needs of individual departments of the company.
  • Coordination of IT projects and investments.
  • Development of existing software.
  • Analyze logs, network load parameters, track information about errors in the software used, and install provided patches.
  • Network service management: Domain Name System (DNS), Windows Internet Name System (WINS), and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
  • Web, FTP, Email Management.
  • Network Security:
  • Assigning access rights to network components (creating domains, workgroups, access to remote files, printers, etc.)
  • Experience with Firewalls (WAF)
  • Use of identification and authentication of workstations and users
  • Selection of cryptographic methods that guarantee the resilience of transmitted or stored messages
  • Deciding on Network Protocols.
  • Shaping the policy of naming network elements.
  • Supplier and Service contact.
  • Manage internal and external change requests
  • Liaise with customers and customers facing teams
  • Coordinate resources towards customer success
  • Manage priorities across teams
  • Maintain continuous improvement mindset
  • Translate business goals and requests into executable requirements
  • Undergoes ongoing training to update appropriate Public Cloud skills and knowledge.
  • Translates technical requirements into business requirements.

Education / Qualifications

  • Years of general technical experience
  • Years of managing or coordinating technical projects
  • A Bachelor’s Degree focused on information technology or equivalent experience
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with service management tools such as Salesforce
  • Experience with project management tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Experience with cloud technologies
  • Experience with Agile Methodology
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Cloud providers experience a huge plus
  • Experience with project management with a Cloud provider, preferably Oracle Cloud
  • Strong Application and Networking experience.
  • Previous experience working in Oracle Cloud environments.
  • Experience of deployment, configuring and monitoring virtual severs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft server infrastructure; Microsoft Windows Server: 2016, 2019, 2022, including Active Directory/DNS and Group Policy.
  • Experience with Server infrastructure, Platform Sizing, and tuning running on Oracle Cloud.
  • Experience with the following infrastructure: Compute, Networking, Storage.
  • Strong technical background in cloud implementation.
  • Experience with application pipelines in the CI/CD process.
  • Experience with IT Automation/configuration Tools such as Terraform, puppet, and PowerShell.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-Based Processes: Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Facilities Management, Performance Tuning, Asset Management, Disaster Recovery, Data Center support.
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
  • Technical or Project Management Certifications
  • Oracle Cloud certifications preferred, but not essential.
  • Candidates to provide tangible evidence in these areas from past endeavours.
