Job description

Introduction

The Senior Consumer Research & Insights Manager will focus on creating deep consumer understanding for iRobot. This will be achieved by identifying emerging market trends, analyzing consumer behavior, and providing competitive intelligence to drive consumer centered innovation and strategic decision-making. This global role will be pivotal in ensuring that the company stays ahead of the curve by gathering actionable insights that influence product development, marketing strategies, and long-term growth initiatives. By championing the consumer at iRobot, this person will help position the company as a leader.

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead initiatives to identify emerging consumer behaviors and trends that have the potential to influence innovation. Use various research methodologies to uncover unmet needs and new opportunities for product development and market differentiation. Monitor global and regional market trends to provide early-stage insights that inform ideation, future-facing opportunities and competitive trends.
  • Lead consumer research to understand evolving preferences, pain points, and needs. Understand the current and potential consumer target and translate insights into actionable recommendations that influence new product designs, marketing campaigns, and overall business strategies. Champion consumer empathy and be the voice of the consumer within the organization.
  • Partner with key business stakeholders; including product managers, designers, R&D and the marketing team to understand business questions, design research programs and share insightful learning that advocates for the consumer. The ability to collaborate and influence the organization will be critical to success in this role.

To Be Successful You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Social Science, Psychology, Business or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7 + years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or related fields
  • Experience in consumer facing product or service industry
  • Highly regarded - experience in technology, robotics, direct to consumer (DTC), ecommerce or other innovation oriented industries
  • Demonstrated experience in range of consumer insight research methodologies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to tell compelling stories using data.
  • Proficiency with analysis tools (e.g., Python, Tableau etc) and expert at using survey platforms (e.g. Qualtrics).
  • Familiarity with POS data sources eg. Circana/ Nielsen
  • Strong analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to identify patterns and connect the dots to identify meaningful insights
  • Passion, curiosity and personal leadership
