What you will do: 
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you represent the pinnacle of technical leadership and strategic direction within our engineering department. You oversee multiple teams and projects, ensuring that our software solutions are not only robust and scalable but also align with our long-term strategic goals. Your role demands a high level of technical acumen, visionary leadership, and the ability to drive operational excellence across larger segments of the business.
You are known for your strategic insight and ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Your leadership ensures that teams are highly motivated, well-coordinated, and aligned with the broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Advanced Team Leadership and Development: Oversee the growth and development of multiple engineering teams. You are responsible for shaping the leadership skills of your managers, ensuring they can lead their teams effectively.
  • Strategic Project Oversight: Manage the lifecycle of complex, large-scale software projects. Ensure integration of advanced project management practices to meet and exceed business expectations.
  • Enhanced Quality Assurance: Set strategic goals for maintaining and enhancing software quality. Implement cutting-edge quality assurance measures that serve as benchmarks for the industry.
  • Strategic Technical Involvement: While hands-on coding might not be a day-to-day activity, your deep understanding of software development practices allows you to provide expert guidance and make critical architectural decisions.
  • Comprehensive Strategic Planning: Play a key role in the executive management team, contributing to the formulation of the company’s strategic technology roadmap and ensuring its alignment with business goals.
  • Expertise and Thought Leadership: Act as a chief advisor in your domain, providing insights into technological trends and their implications for our business. Lead strategic discussions on technology investments and innovations.
  • Expanded Solution Leadership: Oversee the design and development of complex solutions, ensuring that your teams are aligned with the company’s technical vision and business strategy.
  • Proactive Engineering Initiatives: Lead significant engineering initiatives that influence product lines and company direction. Ensure these initiatives are integrated into the broader strategic plans of the organization.
  • Broad Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior stakeholders, external business partners, and industry leaders. Represent the company in technical forums and executive meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Educational and Professional Background: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Significant professional experience in software engineering and leadership can substitute for formal education.
  • Extensive Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role overseeing large teams and projects.
  • Advanced Expertise: Deep knowledge in software development, system architecture, and performance optimization at a strategic level.
  • Proven Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated capability to lead large teams and manage complex projects using advanced agile methodologies.
  • Superior Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Exceptional skills in tackling complex problems, making decisions under pressure, and guiding teams through challenges.
  • Expert Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Mastery in managing relationships with key stakeholders and communicating technical and strategic plans effectively.
Desirable Skills
  • In-depth Knowledge of Low-Code Platforms: Advanced understanding of platforms like Mendix, crucial for driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Advanced Database Management Skills: Expertise in designing and managing complex database systems.
  • Senior-Level Certifications: Such as advanced project management or leadership certifications.
  • Experience in Scaling High-Growth Environments: Proven track record in navigating the challenges of rapidly expanding tech landscapes.
  • Expertise in Cloud Technologies and Modern Software Containers: Deep familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies essential for modern development environments.
