Are you passionate about Trade Compliance? Join us in shaping and continuously improving our international operations. We are looking for a talented and curious EMEA Trade Compliance Lead. This person must be a dedicated and enabling minded individual to deliver, oversee & manage the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Trade Compliance program for Dexcom, including compliant imports, exports, and special customs schemes. In this role, you will be a key member of the rapidly growing and developing Dexcom global operations. The trade compliance team is responsible for providing actionable and specific intelligence to leaders driving the global efficiency of the company. Where you come in:
Develop, oversee & lead the implementation of Dexcom’s trade compliance program in EMEA to align with corporate policy and applicable laws and regulations.
Full responsibility to support/guide/monitor/audit all Compliance Trade matters for the region.
Will have, foster and impart strong applicable knowledge of and skills in: Classification of goods into international commerce; import/export declaration processes and schemes; customs brokerage management, records creation and retention, incoterm demarcations and their impact on supply chain total cost and entity requirements.
Will have and foster strong applicable knowledge of admissibility factors enforced at customs with relation to medical devices, chemicals, machinery and equipment.
Will leverage leadership skills to manage and lead others indirectly and propose, validate the addition of direct reports.
Will author, deliver and support trade compliance training and awareness in EMEA.
You will drive accuracy by championing and monitoring the import/export data elements throughout the supply chain, including HS classifications, customs country of origin, export control classifications, valuations, incoterms, and other agency elements, pertinent to the items in trade.
You will partner with internal, external, upstream supply relationship Leads and downstream distribution stream planners to ensure compliance in the company’s international trade aspirations and transactions, while delivering on time and in full supply chain performance.
You will liaise with internal functions, such as tax, legal, regulatory, commercial, IT, quality, sourcing and purchasing, in support of the compliant stewardship of trade compliance data elements, their declaration, and stewardship through a secure supply chain.
You will identify and help drive scalable business solutions to ensure compliance with customs and import/export regulations and cost and/or time saving initiatives through the implementation of systemic and procedural solutions.
You will provide guidance in HTS classification, export controls, sanctions, special customs schemes qualification, binding tariff information, import/export license determination, and other matters pertaining to the compliant execution of cross-border transactions.
You will audit and report trade compliance performance within the supply chain.
You will monitor and apprise leadership on impacting, upcoming regulatory changes.
What makes you successful:
US Licensed Customs Broker, or international equivalent experience and education is required.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a corporate trade compliance organization with a record of increasing responsibility.
Customs audit experience required.
EMEA inward and/outward processing scheme, free trade zone, economic zone experience preferred.
Familiarity with AEO application, experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate in developing strategies, design, and implement trade compliance IT tools for use in the region.
Demonstrated ability to adapt and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
Experience in finance, accounting, IT, and/or manufacturing operations reflecting strong analytical skills with ability to process large amounts of data into actionable directives.
Evidence of decisions impacting work processes and outcomes.
Your experience in implementing/integrating trade compliance modules with inter-departmental teams will prove valuable. SAP/GTS or Oracle/GTM preferred.
History of influencing others causing and executing import/export transactions.
