Role: Sr. AutoCAD Energy Storage Drafter Consultant
Location: New York City (100% Remote).
Duration: 5+ months

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior AutoCAD Energy Storage Drafter Consultant in New York City (100% Remote).
  • Seeking a highly skilled Senior AutoCAD Drafter with expertise in energy storage projects.
  • The ideal candidate will create precise and high-quality 2D and 3D computer-aided designs for energy storage sites using AutoCAD software.
  • This role requires strong technical drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and other professionals.
  • The primary responsibility will be translating blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions into detailed AutoCAD drawings and schematics that align with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize AutoCAD software to draft, edit, and finalize technical and construction drawings for energy storage sites.
  • Prepare plan sets, drawing layouts, spreadsheets, and supporting documents that meet technical standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Work with the Utility Dispatch Rights Construction Manager to compile a repository of all approved UDR project plans and track any material changes to contracted project designs
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to develop accurate and efficient designs.
  • Convert hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site photos into precise AutoCAD drawings.
  • Present draft designs for review and approval.
  • Update and modify existing drawings based on project changes or new information.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry, safety, and structural standards.
  • Develop and maintain a library of standard drawing templates for efficiency and consistency.
  • Produce single-line diagrams for electrical components as required.
  • Work closely with project managers, consultants, and subcontractors to refine and finalize designs.
  • Perform thorough quality control checks on all drawings before submission including contracted UDR projects.
  • Maintain an organized digital archive of drawing revisions and final versions.
  • Seek clarification from engineers and project managers whenever necessary.

TECHNICAL SKILLS Must Have
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Associate degree in Computer-Aided Design Drafting (CADD), Electrical Design, or Architecture OR a 1-year certificate program in CADD.
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD software
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an AutoCAD Drafter.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 8+ years of experience as an AutoCAD Drafter
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience preparing AutoCAD drawings for electric utilities (substations, renewable energy sites, etc.).
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
