Job description

Purpose of Role

The Regional (EHS&S) Manager for Services facilitates and continuously improves family member safety and Services Team’s EHS performance. With a frequent presence in the production areas they: Deploy, Train and Model EHS requirements and culture; audit and facilitate improvement of EHS work within Services operations; Lead or manage technical assessments; and support operations projects to ensure employee safety is maintained.

 

Areas of Accountabilities

 

Strengthen Rehrig Pacific’s EHS culture by deploying, training and modeling EHS requirements

- Implement and train teams on EHS standards to ensure family member safety and compliance with Federal, State and Local regulatory requirements and Rehrig requirements.

- Perform new manager Safety Training.

- Oversee, and guide proper completion of, BBSOs (Behavior Based Safety Observation); also perform BBSOs according to schedule.

- Visit sites at least according to schedule and promote EHS culture through routine team member engagement (scheduled or impromptu interaction).

 

Audit and improve EHS performance

- Develop action plans to improve EHS metrics performance when targets are not achieved.

- Lead safety audits with site leadership teams to identify non-compliance or hazardous conditions; develop corrective action plans to address gaps; ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.

- Review vehicle inspections, driver certifications and other employee training documentation; audit to ensure proper execution & corrective actions; document gaps and coach team on gap closure.

- Review EHS data to confirm proper documented per system requirements. Coach team on corrections and needs for future compliance.

- Host closing meetings with multiple members of site leadership upon completion of visits. Document and share all findings with site and National EHS leadership along with timing to close open topics.

 

Lead or manage technical EHS sampling and assessments

- Lead all preventable, near-miss and property damage incident investigations per Rehrig standards. Coach and mentor site personnel on acceptable A3 practices; Manage closure within deadlines; Ensure corrective actions are standardized into existing EHS system documentation and implemented across all Services locations.

- Oversee Storm Water Protection Plan compliance for RLC locations; ensure compliance to standard. Perform stormwater sampling as required.

- Perform, and annually confirm, Job Hazard Assessments. Ensure site compliance.

 

Support Operations projects to ensure continued employee safety and compliance

- Support National EHS with new machine site acceptance activity.

- Provide EHS oversight, risk assessment and reduction for any operational changes.

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading EHS regulatory compliance in an industrial environment.

- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications are preferred.

- Proficient in conducting safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification/mitigation per OSHA standards.

- Experience with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) software platforms for managing safety data, compliance tracking, and incident reporting.

- Skilled in using Excel for managing large volumes of data and creating professionally formatted spreadsheets with conditional formatting.

- Familiarity with DOT regulatory requirements and procedures preferred.

- Ability and willingness to travel frequently (estimated 75-80% of the time).
