Responsibilities

Role Purpose

The Sr. Solution Architect strategically designs and implements medium, complex, and highly complex technology solutions that meet business requirements that are fully aligned with enterprise and domain architecture guidelines.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Proficient in producing architectures and designs that involve the creation of new design patterns for moderate to high technological and business function complexity.
  • Provides end to end architecture for a project to ensure the detailed design and development remains consistent with the overall enterprise architecture.
  • Leads and advises on architect-initiated quality projects (e.g., scalability, maintainability; security; extensibility) to bring successful conclusion and implementation.
  • Identifies issues between the architecture and vendor solution implementation. Identifies solutions and formulate implementation and migration strategies.
  • Provides expertise in technical knowledge, methodology and framework, data integration and data flows, Enterprise Architecture, and software development and coding.
  • Communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort to large and small technical audiences.
  • Defines strategies for networking, server platform, desktop services, and security required to support relevant technical environments.
  • Leads orientation and planning review sessions with the local Information Technology project managers.

  • Understanding and adoption of the TOGAF Framework. Applies architecture principles.
  • Uses relevant tools and techniques in their own work area.
  • Provides guidance on the standards and guidelines to members of the development community.
  • Consults with development project teams in the design of the fundamental hardware and software that provides the infrastructure on which applications are developed and run.
  • Applies the evaluation criteria used for the selection of hardware, software and tools.
  • Ensures the completeness (Fit for purpose) of the architecture in ensuring pertinent requirements of stakeholders is inclusive.
  • Research the design of new architectural components. Assesses benefits and drawbacks of proposed changes.
  • Monitors emerging trends and assesses impact for the company.
  • Consults to multiple project teams in diverse environments.
  • Determines and explains the interrelationships of the various technologies and their respective roles with the architecture.
  • System Development Life Cycle Knowledge
  • Applies knowledge of how technology solutions process through life cycle phases of requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment and decommission.
  • Performs required tasks for one or more phases of the SDLC. Prepares status updates on how work is progressing through a phase.
  • Provides complete and accurate handoffs to others who are responsible for subsequent phases of work.
  • Meets project plan expectations and participates in resolving handoff issues. Coordinates required tasks for one or more phases of the SDLC. Consolidates status updates and resolves handoff issues or other problems.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience strongly preferred.
  • 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
  • 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • 3 or more years of Pharmacy architect experience preferred
  • 5 years of experience required as an architect, analyst, builder, and/or implementer in one or more of the following capabilities: Epic Willow, Pharmacy applications, 340B, Pyxis/Med Dispensing, retail pharmacy applications
  • Background in pharmacy, either as a pharmacy technician or a pharmacist preferred

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
