Responsibilities

As a Senior Financial Analyst you will support processes critical to the end-to-end accounting operations, contribute to the timely completion of accounting activities, and participate in an efficient close process. You must possess a deep understanding of internal and external financial reporting requirements in order to support the mission of our nonprofit hospital group.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute ministry-wide accounting activities including but not limited to posting journal entries, performing month-end close processes and preparing comprehensive account reconciliations and analyses
  • Review, research and resolve transactional issues using forensic-type accounting tools in collaboration with cross-functional experts
  • Responsible for becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of Payroll Accounting processes, internal controls and external requirements
  • Collaborate efficiently, effectively, and respectfully across the Accounting and Reporting Center of Expertise (COE) and other Cross Functional Teams when necessary
  • Provide ad hoc support on financial analysis, audit requests and other management initiatives
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives that address process inefficiencies and opportunities across software platforms, and documentation thereof
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • At least four years of accounting experience
  • Payroll reconciliation preferred
