We think you’ll appreciate our focus on Conscious Capitalism, which drives business decisions that benefit all our stakeholders (leading to even better business results). You might be drawn to our innovative approach and refusal to settle for the “way things have always been done.” Or you could find it exciting to grow your skills while working for an industry-leading brand. Whether you’re into our values, our brand, or our egg-cellent puns, we hope you’ll join our Crew and help us change the world 108 square feet at a time!

At Vital Farms, we are proud of our incredible stakeholders, and the diversity they represent from all areas and communities in which we operate and serve. We view this as a source of strength for us and your job is to help us make it even better.

Your Role:

The Vice President of Supply Chain Planning, as a key contributor to the Operations Leadership Team (OLT), will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain processes, including supply chain planning, customer supply chain (aka customer service), logistics & warehousing, and the application of ERP (processes and systems) within Operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of food industry supply chains, strong leadership experience, and the ability to drive performance improvements across all supply chain functions while maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.

This position will play a crucial role in developing, executing, and managing supply chain strategies while ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and exceptional delivery to our customers.

As a key member of the operations leadership team, you will work cross-functionally with other departments to enhance operations and support growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Operations Leadership Team (OLT): Act as an owner for the Operations team on all capacity and supply projections, shaping the strategy and bringing thought leadership (e.g. leading the Supply Review under Integrated Business Planning (IBP)).
  • Supply Chain Planning: Lead the development and execution of effective supply planning strategies to ensure product availability, minimize stockouts, and optimize inventory levels across all product lines.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Oversee the customer service team to ensure on-time delivery, order accuracy, and exceptional customer support. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen relationships with key accounts.
  • Logistics & Distribution: Manage the logistics operations to ensure efficient transportation, timely deliveries, and cost-effective solutions. Collaborate with third-party providers to improve service levels and reduce transportation costs.
  • Warehousing & Inventory Management: Optimize warehousing in conjunction with Operations, including storage, order picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring efficient use of space and resources. Monitor inventory levels to minimize waste and manage product rotation.
  • ERP Champion: Ensure the effective implementation, and optimization of the ERP system to support seamless supply chain operations. Work with IT and cross-functional teams to integrate ERP system enhancements, improve data accuracy, and streamline processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, sales, marketing, FP&A, and production teams to align supply chain strategies with business goals, building enterprise-wide collaboration. Communicate key supply chain performance metrics to internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across departments.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Inspire, lead and mentor a high-performing supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Develop talent through training, coaching, and career growth opportunities.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the food industry.
  • Experience leading and developing a large team of supply chain professionals across IBP, Supply Chain planning, Customer Supply Chain, and Logistics.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically for meetings and to visit warehouses, production facilities, and logistics hubs, etc.
  • Proven expertise in supply chain planning, logistics, warehousing, customer service, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE, Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O).
  • Strong understanding of the food industry’s unique supply chain challenges, including perishable goods, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and implement actionable insights.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • You’re no hero – You know the power of teamwork and celebrate the work of others before your own.
  • You give a sh*t – You believe in acting like an owner and making Vital Farms a place to be proud of.
  • You raise the standards – You know growth can be hard, but you strive to improve yourself and others each day.
  • You can walk in someone else’s boots – You seek to understand other’s viewpoints and think that you get to better answers by sitting on the same side of the table.
  • You don’t walk on eggshells – You’re not afraid to leave the bullsh*t behind and have honest conversations.

What We Bring to the Table:

  • A fast-paced, energetic, remote environment with passionate people who are leading a movement to bring ethically produced food to the table.
  • Competitive pay and benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, and Paid Parental Leave, just to name a few).

  • Free eggs and butter, along with friends and family discounts.
