This individual will be responsible for researching, applying for, and securing grants, fellowships, and government contracts, while also building strategic partnerships and sponsorships to advance our programs and events.

The role includes identifying relevant government contracts, preparing competitive bids, and managing the end-to-end application process for securing government funding. Additionally, the Coordinator will work to establish partnerships that support our programs, such as the African Immigrant Collective’s monthly mixers, Weekly Expert Series, and NSTAR Technologies’ tech workshops.

This position reports directly to the CEO and plays a key role in securing financial resources to advance organizational goals and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Grant and Fellowship Research & Application
  • Consistently research and identify relevant grants, fellowships, and funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other sources.
  • Write and submit high-quality grant proposals, applications, and reports, ensuring timely submissions and compliance with all grant requirements.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements, ensuring no opportunities are missed.
Government Contracts Identification & Bidding
  • Research and identify government contracts that align with the organization’s expertise and programs, particularly in education, workforce development, and technology.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for government contracts, adhering to all legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather relevant data and develop strong, persuasive proposals tailored to each government contract.
Strategic Partnerships & Sponsorships
  • Cultivate relationships with potential partners and sponsors to support our key initiatives, such as the African Immigrant Collective’s mixers, Expert Series, and NSTAR Technologies’ Monthly Tech Workshops.
  • Negotiate sponsorship agreements and manage ongoing relationships with funders.
  • Identify and collaborate with organizations like the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other student funding organizations to secure funding for tuition and internships for students.
Fundraising Strategy & Implementation
  • Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to support organizational goals, including government grants, individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and events.
  • Manage donor relations, ensuring timely acknowledgments, regular updates, and reporting on the impact of donations and sponsorships.
Reporting & Compliance
  • Monitor the outcomes of grants, contracts, and sponsorships, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to funders, partners, and government agencies on the use and impact of funds.
  • Provide regular fundraising and contract status updates to the CEO.
Organizational Support Responsibilities (In Addition to Core Duties)

In addition to grants and contract coordination, the Growth and Partnerships Coordinator will play a key operational support role across NSTAR Technologies and the African Immigrant Collective (AIM) by:

  • Assisting with general administrative tasks such as scheduling, data entry, meeting coordination, and follow-up
  • Supporting the customer support and operations teams in responding to inquiries and coordinating cross-functional workflows
  • Participating in regular internal team check-ins and planning sessions
  • Organizing and maintaining shared drives, internal records, and communications
  • Assisting with campaign logistics, workshop execution, or program implementation as needed
  • Acting as a liaison between departments and leadership to streamline communication and task execution

This cross-functional involvement offers the candidate a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to both mission-driven organizations, while gaining broad operational experience.
