Job description

The Staff Data Engineer is a technical member in the engineering team and applies advanced technical knowledge, broad knowledge of data management best practices in the context of cloud and big data engineering, problem solving, and creativity to build and maintain data software products that achieve technical, business, and customer experience goals.

Responsibilities include implementing data integration and application development for AI-powered healthcare software solutions, developing supporting data platform models within a lake house architecture, and establishing robust deployment frameworks for customer data onboarding. This role will also assist in defining data models for value stream products while ensuring data integrity, compliance, security, and privacy. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and external vendors will be essential to drive innovation and maintain alignment with business objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

· Lead data integration activities for growth products, ensuring seamless data migration between legacy systems and new platforms while maintaining data accuracy and consistency.

· Be a subject matter expert on orchestration, data model, and big data processing for the teams

· Works with product management, business stakeholders, and data architects to understand software requirements and helps estimate epics, features, and stories.

· Ensures appropriate design patterns are applied to system, data architectures and implementations.

· Provides skillful communication and respectful listening — conveying logical and structured thoughts, truthfulness, empathy, confidence, and friendliness.

· Applies consistent levels of strategic thinking, judgment, decision making, attention to detail, teamwork, organization, innovation, and initiative.

· Documentation and Communication: Document data implement. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship for other members of the team, supporting their professional growth and development within the organization.

Skills

· Strong proficiency in cloud based lake house architecture using Databricks

· Strong working proficiency with cloud solution architecture in AWS, Azure, or GCP

· Strong working proficiency with at least one main stream programming languages, including Python, Scala, SQL

· Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and enterprise software patterns

· Strong Proficiency in highly scalable data integration techniques, data warehousing, and ETL processes.

· Hands on engineering experience building data pipelines using modern data technologies including Databricks, Airflow, DBT, Snowflake

Other Qualifications

Proficient computer skills (including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, Internet, and email) are required.

· Healthcare Data Expertise: Utilize extensive knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, X.12, ICD-10) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) to guide data architecture design and data governance practices.

· Experience working with globally distributed teams.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and lead initiatives in a strong matrix team structure

· Designing and building software solutions using low code/no code frameworks

· Knowledge of Palantir Foundry platform a plus

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $140,000.00 - $194,785.02 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 10.00%
