Job description

Position Title: Database Engineer

Location: US - MN, Remote

Department: Transportation

The Senior Database Engineer will assist in the management of and contribute to the design, development, implementation, monitoring, and support of our database services.  This includes on-premise and cloud implementations.  The Senior Database Engineer position is a great opportunity to actively contribute in an enterprise development team in the stability and future of our platform. This position requires a developer with demonstrated experience working on production projects that are highly available in a stable environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work in an environment of anticipated frequent change, and able to complete development with often ambiguous requirements.

What You Will Do:

We are a team oriented, developer empowered workplace. Your role as senior database engineer will require:

  • Experience in relational and multidimensional database schemas
  • Data Architecture and Design
  • Collaborating with Infrastructure and Development to identify needs and opportunities for improved stability reporting
  • Hands-on SQL development and Review of Stored Procedures for consistency and quality
  • Provide design, development and testing estimations based on requirements and research into data that is currently sourced
  • Responsible for driving the architecture and design of the enterprise platform
  • Self-motivate and self-manage in a rapid development environment
  • Experience with a variety of database solutions

What Skills & Experience you Bring:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or comparable professional experience
  • MS SQL/TSQL Development Experience
  • Support of Production environments
  • Design of Database objects and relational tables and stored procedures
  • SQL performance tuning
  • Experience working with Data Warehouse and ETL
  • Experience with large high volume database solutions  

Preferred Skills:

  • Database Administration
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies and Implementations
  • Experience in transportation, logistics or fleet management
