The Role:
Working closely with the Chief People Officer, you will play a key role in managing the People and Culture day to day activities, including advising managers on employee relation issues, supporting hiring managers with recruitment, on-boarding new employees, maintaining up-to-date records in our HRIS systems and communicating changes to payroll and benefits providers and planning and running L&D events on a regular basis.
Salary Range: £38,000 - 42,000 per annum DOE.
The Role Responsibilities:
Supporting and advising on all HR-related functions of the business
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of employment law and HR best practice to ensure advice and guidance is both accurate and up-to-date; and ensure management are appropriately updated on new employment legislation
Support on our recruitment process to include: writing job descriptions and job adverts, shortlisting and interviewing.
Ensure a smooth onboarding process for all employees including UK and US staff
Work with the Chief People Officer to introduce new, and enhance existing, staff recognition and reward programs
Manage our employee annual leave and TOIL process
Manage our employee sickness and absence policy and process
Provide guidance and support regarding Maternity Leave/Pay, Flexible Working, Paternity/Parental Leave
Carry out appropriate checks on the current status of employees in relation to their eligibility to work in the UK and US and ensuring their compliance to the terms of their visas where appropriate, with support from a US HR solution
Support in developing the capability of managers within the Company to manage their team members effectively
To work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure the UK, Europe and US payroll and benefits are administered accurately and in a timely manner
Contribute to the improvement of the HR function such as streamlining processes where necessary
To manage any ER related issues and to keep the Chief People Officer updated on all ER issues
The Must-Haves:
Level 5 CIPD qualified or equivalent, or working towards
Experience of working in recruitment in order to work at pace
Able to troubleshoot independently
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Able to think objectively, prioritise workloads and proactively solve problems with strong planning and organisation skills
Able to suggest HR systems to compile data and analyse key HR trends
Able to demonstrate good HR practice
An understanding and knowledge of employment law and employment practices
Effective and confident communicator (both orally and in writing)
Able to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality in all aspects of work and be a trusted and professional ambassador for HR
Self-motivated, adaptable, and positive approach
