A Product Development PAVE Techician works at VEV PAVE and Instrumentation laboratory based on workload. The Technician is responsible of receiving, inspecting, fixing, and updating Marketing and Public Relationships vehicles. The PAVE process involves handling different mechanical and digital tools to prepare these vehicles for marketing purposes. These tasks are performed using a high level of detail and perfection, combined with knowledge in automotive mechanics, squeaks and rattles, software updates. The candidate is responsible of assuring vehicles on time delivery with the highest quality, maintaining continuous communication with other Ford members.
Responsibilities
Process ELMS request, understanding the requestor needs and having adequate communication with him until the test request is finished. The candidate must be able to keep track of all the performed activities, components and equipment through the available formats. The candidate must also document working hours and details in the ELMS schedule and discussion board.
Follow PAVE procedures, understanding the importance of not generating deviations.
Perform mechanical work in: Body exterior and interior
Communicate needs to Marketing, PR, Vehicle Control and Company Cars.
Run automated tests, keeping record of the test conditions, files and results.
Drive vehicles and evaluate quality concern that might affect safety or development purposes.
Practice and promote safe working habits and maintain a clean working environment as 5S´s and Visual Factory in their working areas and within the laboratory.
Maintain and control the supplies and resources to support daily work.
Train new team members in testing techniques, equipment, testing hardware and data analysis software.
Possess and promote a positive attitude, proactivity and performs other duties as assigned.
Perform a variety of liaison duties by communicating project results to the customers and management via email, text messages, conference calls and face to face conversations.
Able and willing to work off shifts, days off and weekends as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Technical Degree (minimum) or Professional (incomplete)
Skills in automotive electronics and mechanics are required.
Craftsmanship and high level of detail inspection skills
Working knowledge of data collecting devices including but not limited to: data loggers, microcontrollers, dedicated laboratory equipment.
Knowledge of various physics measurement concepts such as: position, speed, acceleration, force, voltage, current, pressure and temperature.
Solid organizational skills including proven ability to multi-task and maintain project deadlines
Ability to work independently and communicate results with solid verbal and written skills
Proficient in utilizing MS Office tools (Excel, Word. Outlook, SharePoint)
Willingness to learn new testing techniques.
