Political Competitive Specialist / Sales Assistant
TEGNA is looking for someone with a unique blend of administrative, computer and sales support experience. In this position, you will maintain highly organized and detailed tracking of Political Spending for all TEGNA clients, and act as a liaison between competitive tracking contacts at our agency clients. As the Sales Assistant you will be the primary support person for the Sales staff and the Sales Fulfilment team and will assist in aspects of the sales process, including good stewardship of client business.
*The candidate for this position can be in the Washington DC or Philadelphia areas, as our political sales offices are located in both cities.
Responsibilities:
• Report all political activity for all Tegna stations, both local and national
• Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, able to act with a sense of urgency and adhere to set deadlines
• Detail oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks at once and manage time well
• Responsibilities include order entry, maintenance of client schedules, regular tracking of client audience delivery, developing presentations, and providing a high level of customer service
• Resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
• Provide overall support to the sales organization
• Ensure all orders follow standardized TEGNA coding for accurate corporate reporting
• Work closely with TEGNA Sales Management to assure accuracy, continuity and meeting sales deadlines
• Actively working in TEGNA selling platforms (WideOrbit Traffic, WideOrbit Media Sales, WideOrbit Connect, etc.)
Requirements:
• College degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred
• Previous experience using WideOrbit is preferred
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure
• Attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills are a must
• Ability to effectively solve problems with sense of urgency
• Creative and able to adapt quickly to change
• Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organization and time management
• Proficient with computer software/applications, including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel
