Full Time – Remote
Application Deadline: April 16

At Fonemed, we’re redefining how individuals and healthcare organizations connect through secure, cloud-native technology. Our platform supports a wide range of digital health services and solutions, empowering care delivery across the globe.

We’re looking for a Cloud & DevOps Engineer to help us build and maintain scalable, secure, and compliant infrastructure that supports our global operations and growing suite of digital health capabilities. If you're passionate about automation, secure infrastructure, and building systems that make a real difference in people’s lives — we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure using AWS services such as CloudFormation, Lambda, Cognito, S3, and DynamoDB
  • Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to enable consistent, secure, and auditable deployments
  • Support serverless architectures and event-driven systems built with AWS-native tools
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for our legacy platform, which is hosted in AWS using traditional architectures such as VPC, EC2, and RDS
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket to support automated deployments
  • Monitor, secure, and optimize cloud environments for availability, performance, and cost-efficiency
  • Administer access control and user identity management via AWS IAM and Cognito
  • Collaborate closely with software development teams to improve release pipelines and operational processes
  • Ensure infrastructure and processes align with compliance requirements including HIPAA, SOC 2, and FedRAMP
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis, and lead infrastructure improvements as needed
  • Track and manage tasks and sprints using Jira
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation related to deployments, configurations, and cloud infrastructure
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree or diploma program in Software Development or relevant discipline; a combination of relevant education and experience will be considered
  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure role within a SaaS or regulated environment
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS, including both modern serverless components and traditional infrastructure (VPC, EC2, RDS)
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools and practices (e.g. CloudFormation)
  • Experience implementing and supporting secure, scalable multi-tenant cloud environments
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD automation, preferably using Bitbucket Pipelines
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, and FedRAMP compliance standards and practices
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch
  • Exposure to Node.js, React, and/or React Native
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are an asset
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a collaborative and proactive mindset
