Role Name: Australian Bookkeeper

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 6:30 PM, 30-minute unpaid break | New Zealand (New Zealand Standard Time)

Paid hours per week: 35 hours

Job Description

Embark on an exciting financial journey as an Australian Bookkeeper for a rapidly growing international packaging company. Responsibilities
  • Manage a complex web of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections to keep the business running smoothly
  • Take charge of bank statement reconciliations, maintaining impeccable financial records that stand up to the highest standards of accuracy
  • Oversee payroll processing for Australian employees, ensuring compliance with local regulations and timely, accurate payments
  • Prepare comprehensive data for monthly and year-end financial reports, providing crucial insights for strategic decision-making
  • Play a key role in BAS (Business Activity Statement) preparation, ensuring the company stays compliant with Australian tax regulations
  • Collaborate with the international finance team to streamline processes and improve financial reporting across borders
  • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and cost savings, contributing to the company’s overall financial efficiency


Requirements
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper for Australian companies, with a deep understanding of local accounting practices and regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in Australian accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements, including GST and BAS reporting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy in all financial tasks
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a remote working environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial team members
