DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

Prepares and submits claims to various companies either electronically or via paper. Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors.
Maintains patient demographic information and data in EMR systems.
Verify insurance eligibility for medical insurance by utilizing online websites or by contacting the carriers directly.
Participates in trainings and attends staff meetings.
Maintains strict confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Computer skills, working knowledge of (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, e-mail software).
Ability to be very flexible in accepting department assignments.
Skill and ability to function effectively and calmly in an unpredictable or stressful environment.
Participates in Quality Improvement.
Completes mail to assigned clients
If applicable calling on payment status
