What You’ll Do
Telstra’s in-house creative agency is evolving into a world-class creative function, and we are seeking a Senior Designer to elevate our brand storytelling across all customer channels. This role is pivotal in shaping the voice of Telstra, ensuring consistency, creativity and strategic thinking across brand campaigns, customer communications and business-to-business engagement.
As a senior designer, you will be responsible for elevating Telstra’s visual identity across all channels, ensuring that every design element is strategically aligned, crafted to perfection and consistent with brand guidelines. The Senior Designer will work across branding, digital, print, packaging and motion content, collaborating with creative teams to develop high-impact design solutions.
This role requires a mix of conceptual creative, strategic thinking and adaptability to craft for diverse audiences, from everyday consumers to business leaders. You will collaborate closely with copy leads, strategists and marketers to develop ideas that engage, persuade and drive action across the full spectrum of Telstra’s marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Brand Guardianship & Creative Excellence
- Serve as a brand steward, ensuring all design work adheres to Telstra’s visual identity, typography, colour systems, and layout principles.
- Oversee design execution across print, digital, motion, and packaging, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to translate strategic objectives into strong visual narratives.
Creative Concept Development & Execution
- Develop and present well-considered design concepts that push creative boundaries, while maintaining brand integrity.
- Work closely with copywriters, strategists, and creative directors to craft cohesive brand experiences.
- Maintain a strong understanding of creative trends, user experience, and emerging design technologies.
- Organize and maintain design files and master assets for efficiency and consistency.
Production Oversight & Executional Craft
- Ensure flawless execution of final design outputs, from digital ads to large-scale print and packaging.
- Work with printers, developers, and production teams to bring creative concepts to life across multiple formats.
- Support the team in managing external specialists, such as illustrators, visualizers, and motion designers.
Mentorship & Team Development
- Support and mentor junior designers, fostering their creative growth and professional development.
- Maintain an atmosphere of collaboration and innovation, encouraging the team to explore new creative techniques.
- Help guide best practices in workflow, file management, and creative processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Technical Expertise & Innovation
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in design, editing, and platforms.
- Experiment with new tools, AI-driven editing techniques and immersive formats to push creative boundaries.
- Ensure all creative is optimized for various platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, CRM and digital ads.
About You
Knowledge & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in graphic design, branding or visual communications.
- Strong portfolio, showcasing branding, packaging, digital and print work.
- Experience working with fast-moving corporate brands, retail or FMCG is beneficial.
- Deep understanding of brand identity, design systems, and visual storytelling.
Desirable Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong knowledge of typography, colour theory and composition.
- Experience with motion design and 3D software (Cinema 4D, Blender) is a bonus.
- Familiarity with social design principles, digital design systems and responsive web design.
- Experience working with print production processes and packaging design.
