Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join our team on part time (up to 3 days a week), fixed term basis. The initial engagement will be for 6 months with the option to extend.

Reporting to our CFO, you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting and working with teams across the business to improve our financial processes.

What you will do:

  • Lead and improve the month end close process.
  • Produce the monthly management accounts with insightful analysis.
  • Review and improve processes across the business where they interact with Finance.
  • Lead the year end close and annual accounts.
  • Implement the Finance aspects of a legal entity restructure.
  • Lead a VAT review.
  • Ad-Hoc projects to support the CFO. 
  • Coaching and developing our Senior Accounting Assistant.

Requirements

This role is perfect for someone who has:

  • At least 5yrs post qualified financial control experience, including with start-ups / small businesses.
  • Strong understanding of UK reporting and compliance. 
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • An accounting qualification.
  • The ability to translate the needs of the business into financial processes.
  • Previous experience using Xero.
  • Strong understanding of systems including Excel.
  • Willingness to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into the detail.
  • This role can be remote or hybrid from our office in London Blackfriars.
