Job description

The Controller will direct and oversee the financial activities of the corporation, coordinate financial reports and analysis, generate financial forecasts, and help mitigate financial and asset risk for the shareholders.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
  • Oversees the employee health insurance and 401k benefit programs.
  • Oversee payroll process
  • Acts as the Finance Team Leader and coordinator.
  • Provides guidance to other Leadership Team members as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Accounting Department, and coordinates the timely preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns (in accordance with GAAP), and governmental agency reports.
  • Provides financial analysis and recommendations on the monthly, quarterly, and annual financials.
  • Manages the company debt structure and cash flow, and provides cash flow projections to ensure covenant compliance, and ensure adequate cash to support working capital needs.
  • Manage bank, review/audit, and investor relations.
  • Makes recommendations on procedural improvements throughout the company to maximize asset returns, reduce costs, and ensure proper internal control.
  • Analyzes growth opportunities and potential acquisitions from a financial and capital requirement perspective and provides recommendations accordingly.
  • Provides necessary risk mitigation recommendations and procures insurance to properly protect company assets.
  • Is an active participant in the Leadership Team and provides guidance as needed.
  • Oversee the strategic planning process
  • Coordinates all Finance Team activities.
  • Assists the HR department in implementing compensation and incentive programs and oversees the administration of health insurance and 401k benefit programs.
  • Provides financial reports and analysis to the Board, Creditors, and the investor group.
  • Assists the CEO on company leadership matters as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient in accounting computer application systems. (Quickbooks)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial management is required.
