Job description

👋 Who are we?

Nordhealth’s mission is to build software that improves the daily lives of healthcare professionals. We build software that empowers veterinary and therapy professionals to provide the best possible care experiences to their patients. Our products are used daily by over 50,000 professionals in clinics and hospitals across 30+ countries. We excel with 20+ years of experience in healthcare and veterinary software.

We understand that talent comes from everywhere and anywhere. The greater our diversity, the better the products we deliver. That’s why we are a remote-first company, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, with all 400+ employees working either remotely or from collaboration hubs. While our market presence is currently strongest in the Nordics, our customer base is rapidly growing in our other markets too, especially in Europe and North America (more at our website nordhealth.com.)

About the role

We are here to create great healthcare products. That’s at our very core, but it’s the people who make companies great, not the other way around. We spend more time with our co-workers than anyone else in our lives. Being part of an exceptional team is not only important for your personal mindfulness but key for your professional progression.

We’re looking for a versatile, hands-on Documentation Specialist to join our Product Operations team and help us take our documentation to the next level.

Working with teammates and colleagues, you will produce high-quality documentation for customers and employees, driving the creation and management of content that contributes to the overall success of our products in our veterinary business.

  • This is a mid-level role, requiring 2-3 years of experience.
  • This role reports to the Manager of Product Operations.
  • This is a full-time, permanent role.
  • At this time, we can only consider candidates who are in a timezone with a maximum deviation of ±2 hours of Central European Time (CET).

Our current team setup is diverse and distributed across Europe and the US. We trust everyone to: manage their time efficiently; communicate when we are together; and work asynchronously towards common goals. We’re the best match for highly proactive and collaborative people. 🚀

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Write technically sound, consistent, and engaging end user documentation (user guides, getting started guides, support FAQs, reference material, etc.) in English.
  • Work with our internal teams, such as Product and Support, to understand customer needs and research topics using multiple sources of information to create clear and concise content that helps end users to accomplish their tasks in a self-supported way.
  • Elevate the standards of internal documentation, such as: workflows, processes, guidelines, and information about our teams, with an emphasis on discoverability and usefulness.
  • Use information architecture knowledge to design documentation that meets the needs of multiple audiences in various stages of the learning cycle.
  • Oversee the documentation translation and localization workflows.
  • Participate in peer reviews to maintain consistent, high-quality documentation, and proactively suggest ways to improve current content and ways of working.
  • Align with product interface texts, product marketing communications, and the tone of voice of our brand.
  • Look for opportunities to automate documentation processes using workflow automation technology and AI and scale your impact across the Product organisation.

What will help you to be successful in this role?

Ideally, you are a self-starter with excellent documentation and time management skills, eager to continuously improve your skills and grow with others.

Our Documentation Specialists are experts who advocate for high quality documentation that is a delight for both customers and employees to use. Documentation Specialists scale across multiple Product teams, working together to surface new features and changes while continuously improving existing documentation.

In addition, our humble wishlist includes:

  • Ability to take ownership of your work, coordinate with stakeholders, and follow up effectively.
  • Ability to put yourself in our customers’ shoes and create documentation that they would find readable and usable.
  • Ability to understand the big picture while paying attention to detail.
  • Initiative to regularly update and streamline your documentation practices to make them more efficient and effective.
  • Ability to promote the value of high-quality documentation and your team’s accomplishments in this area.
  • A respectful and cooperative attitude focused on bringing success to everyone—both peers and customers.
